Across Japan! A two-person trip with my dog in a mobile doghouse!
Following yesterday's trip to Uozu Auxiliary Port with a friend, the next day I went to Kokubu Seaside Park by myself.
I found this place on a firefly squid map when I went to Joshuya Toyama Toyoda store to buy pickling sauce.
Last year, they didn't catch any, and when I spoke to a restaurant owner in Takaoka, he mentioned that there were also mass strandings of fireflies on the Takaoka coast.
So, I decided to take a chance and went there in the afternoon instead of going to the usual firefly squid spots.
Initially, the north wind was so strong I thought it would be no good, but it was a good spot for car camping, so I parked my car there. And so, as night fell, cars carrying people scooping up firefly squid started to arrive one by one...
Initially, there were only about 10 people, but after midnight, more and more arrived...
Even so, there were significantly fewer firefly squid enthusiasts compared to Uozu yesterday (lol)
Thinking it was probably no good, I started scooping up firefly squid... The result is as you can see in the video (lol)
The next morning, I even saw firefly squid stranding themselves on the beach, a first-time experience after a first-time experience, a life full of firsts (lol)
It was a good souvenir to take to the afterlife 🙏 (lol)
