How To Measure Grass Sugars With A Refractometer
To measure grass sugars cut representative grass to grazing/mowing height (Cattle/Horses – 5cms, Sheep – 3cms).
Twist and roll the grass in your hands for 2 minutes to break cell walls and then with something like a garlic crusher, squeeze out enough grass juice to fill the pipette.
Put juice sample on the refractometer and observe reading.
