Fix a Toilet Fill Valve That Keeps Running
If your toilet won't stop filling or it's hissing, the fill valve may need to be flushed free of debris. This short video shows you how to clean out a Gmax fill valve (made by Korky), the Gmax is very similar to a Korky QuietFILL. The fill valve is this video was hissing and leaking. After flushing it out and cleaning a few key parts the problem was fixed. Save yourself some time and money, try flushing out the fill valve before you replace it or call a plumber.
Two tips to fix valve if it is leaking: Pry up the rubber disk on the float, flip it over and reinsert in onto the float. Buy a replacement cap, the red gasket often fails Both Korky and Toto make them. Korky R528 or Toto THU302 fill valve replacement cap. They cost about $4.
