Animal proof your house, shed or deck. Seal off and prevent rodents, groundhogs, skunks from digging or getting under buildings by using a barrier. A determined groundhog was starting to burrow under my shed. As soon as I stopped playing music and redirected the water sprayer from the shed, this guy was back. I dug a trench around the shed and buried steel mesh to keep him out. Don't use chicken wire, groundhogs can chew through that.
An underground fence can also be installed around a garden fence. In spite of looking overweight and dumpy, groundhogs can climb. If the fence around your garden is mesh, make sure the top of the fence is wobbly. The wobbly fence will deter climbing over it.
