The hypothetical possibility that the world around us is artificially simulated is quite high. The simulation can easily adapt to our perception, forming not only the material objects around, but also consciousness itself.
The existence of matrix reality is admitted to varying degrees by authoritative scientists and philosophers. In 2003, Oxford University professor Nick Bostrom put forward a hypothesis that our reality is an illusion.
In his article "Are We in a Computer Simulation?", he gives reasonable arguments that consciousness does not depend on the human brain, but on computing power, its structure and the relationships between them. In fact, consciousness can also exist as a set of electrical impulses in a computer.
Cambridge University professor, physicist John Barrow, commenting on Bostrom's hypothesis, argued that if we really live in a simulated reality, we will observe random failures in the fundamental laws of nature and discrepancies in some constants. In addition, the cosmological model of the Universe itself contains many obvious and non-random "coincidences" that allow complex life forms to be supported in one single place - Earth.
