Montana Elkhorn Mountains Bull Elk Hunt Teaser
Going back to Montana for Levi’s Elkhorn Mountains Bull Elk Hunt was a reminder of how important good friends and community have been in our lives. The sweet mountain air, incredible recreation, and unparalleled resources make Montana one of the last best places. With temperature changes of over 50 degrees, wolves on the prowl, six inches of snow, and nocturnal elk, this adventure was yet another reminder of how unforgiving nature can be. We hunted high and hunted long, 70 miles in and 8.5 days looking for that one, old bull. We found 14 in 5 drainages but passed not meeting our match.
Working dark timber during the mid-days, we found a group of mature bulls in a real hell hole where we eventually moved camp to focus the last four days of our trip. While we snuck in on several bedded elk, jump shooting them with a bow would prove to be an insurmountable task. Levi will continue on his quest through the end of November or until fate will determine time served. Stay tuned for his incredible journey.
