9001 hours of procrastination. It also doesn't help when I toy around with the instruments as much as I have in this song, forcing me to rewrite whole sections at a time.
Yeah, see those planes? They've also been gameboys (too loud), stars (pitch too high), fire flowers (no, just no), hearts (awkward), and dogs (that's right, I tried the dog). See those cars? They've also been gameboys, fireflowers, stars (lol), and swans.
The song also magically changed key partway through. I dunno why it surprised me this time (cuz ZUN does it in every single song he writes) but I then had to redo the last three sections (and then changed instruments again).
Also, screw the stars' echo effect. It just sounds awful when the whole song randomly gets quieter (see that Cave Story song I did for an example of suck). Either three or four iterations of stars would be fine. Three sounded okay so I stuck with it.
Lastly, I made up some bogus star part in the second theme out of laziness. Also added a stronger heart section in the last section of the song even though it's not there in the original. Didn't have enough oomph at the end.
