Open Work Permit available for 'Vulnerable temporary foreign workers'
If a temporary foreign worker is working in Canada on a 'Closed Work Permit' i.e. an 'Employer specific work permit' AND is vulnerable to abuse at work place, then there is a new provision available for that person to apply for an OPEN WORK PERMIT WITHOUT AN ADDITIONAL FEE. YOU WILL HEAR from IRCC within 5 DAYS once you apply online.

If the person has his family members in Canada, then they can also receive an OPEN WORK PERMIT.
