In this video, the example given is that of a student who is eligible for a 3 yrs PGWP. But his passport expires in next 1.5 yrs. In that case, the initial PGWP would be for 1.5 yrs but once the student renews his passport and applies again, he will get a new work permit for another 1.5 yrs so that the total duration of the post graduate work permit (PGWP) is 3yrs.
