Bestselling author Denise Kiernan talks with "black•ish" executive producer and showrunner Courtney Lilly. Denise and Courtney start out by discussing one of their favorite topics: sports, especially soccer. They discuss the viewing of live sports as a form of narrative drama. From there, the conversation included a look inside the writers' room—both pre- and post-pandemic—musings on the collaborative creative process, eschewing perfectionism in favor of productivity and progress, and so much more.
