今回、3回目を迎えるジャパンカップは、STEM教育を通じて、同世代のこどもたちが国際交流できる場を提供することを目的にしています。
すでに世界大会出場予選が終了しているこの時期に、海外から参加するチームは、日本チームとの交流に胸を躍らせて来日し、日本チームは、海外からのチームとコミュニケーションを図り、技術やアイデア、それに競技の戦略方法を情報交換したり、あるいは異文化の交流そのものに大きな期待を持ち参加しています。 チームの技術的な習熟度は問いません。初心者でももちろん大歓迎です。
ジャパンカップは、元々、日本人の子供達に、もっと多くの国際交流の場を提供することを目的に始まりました。 他国の新学期が通常9月から始まるのに対し、日本の教育システムでは、新学期が4月から始まります。 小学校から中学校に進学した子供たちや、中学校から高校に進学した子供たちは、学校が変わってしまい、3月にチームがバラバラになる可能性が非常に高く、新しく進学した学校では、公欠が取りづらい状況です。 また、世界大会が開催される時期は、ゴールデンウィーク中に開催されることもあり、旅費が年間でも一番高くなります。 そのため、多くの子供たちや子供たちを支える大人たちは、世界大会出場前から夢を諦めてしまう傾向にありました。 それであれば、日本でも世界大会のような世界中から子供達が集まる競技大会を開催し、あの感動を実現させよう！という気持ちが私たちの力の源になっています。 私たちYSEと一緒に、是非この夢を実現しましょう！ 目標は、300チーム規模の国際交流大会を、毎年3月に日本で開催することです。
チームの成績はrobotevents.comに記録されますが、世界大会の出場権利は付与されません。もし世界大会出場が目的の場合は、各地域のトーナメントに出場していただくか、リーグに参加してください。

Welcome to VIQRC Japan Cup The 3rd 2023-2024!
The Japan Cup, now in its third edition, aims to provide a platform for children of the same generation to engage in international exchange through STEM education.
At this stage, where the World Championship qualifying rounds have already concluded, teams coming from overseas are excited to interact with Japanese teams during their visit to Japan. Japanese teams are eager to exchange technical ideas and strategic approaches to competitions with the foreign teams, as well as embrace the prospects of intercultural exchange. Technical proficiency is not a prerequisite for participating teams; beginners are also most welcome.
The Japan Cup originated with the primary objective of offering Japanese children more opportunities for international exchange. Unlike many other countries where the new academic year starts in September, Japan's education system begins its academic year in April. This results in a significant transition for students moving from elementary to junior high school or from junior high to high school. In March, teams tend to disband, and it becomes challenging to take time off from the newly enrolled school. Additionally, the World Championship takes place during Golden Week, one of Japan's longest holidays, making travel expenses at their highest for the year. Consequently, many children and their supporting adults tended to give up on their dreams even before reaching the World Championship.
In response, we decided to organize a competition like the World Championship, gathering children from all over the world, right here in Japan, to recreate that heartwarming experience. Our desire to make this dream come true fuels our efforts alongside YSE. Our goal is to host an international exchange event on a grand scale, with 300 teams participating, every March in Japan.
Please note that team scores will be recorded on robotevents.com, but the event does not grant qualification for the World Championship. If your aim is to participate in the World Championship, we encourage you to take part in regional tournaments or join the league.
