Riley Strains parents accept his diploma at Mizzou after his tragic death! 🎓
Inside the school’s Mizzou Arena on May 11, Strain’s parents and stepparents accepted their late loved one's diploma during commencement for the University of Missouri’s College of Arts and Science.
Strain’s name was the first to be announced at the ceremony, as the other graduating students and members of the audience stood up to applaud and cheer. His family was visibly moved, some in tears, as they embraced school administrators on stage and held up Strain’s diploma.
Before the distribution of the diplomas, University of Missouri president Mun Y. Choi acknowledged Strain and his family, saying in his remarks to the graduating class, "We lost Riley tragically earlier in the year and the family is here to accept his bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in business."
Strain was last seen by friends on March 8 after he was kicked out of Luke Bryan’s bar and restaurant in Nashville. At the time of his disappearance, Strain and his fellow Delta Chi fraternity members traveled to Tennessee for the group’s annual formal.
