Renault, Mitsubishi, and Nissan have released the new CMF-B platform. It's no secret that Dacia is also sourcing technology from this platform, and VAZ was supposed to build its LADA cars on the same platform, according to plans. But we're not talking politics here, we're talking about the 160 combined horsepower (including the hybrid) in the Renault SIMBIOZ, new to Israel.
While the naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine with a chain timing belt is more or less clear, time will tell regarding the transmission and hybrid system's durability and overall reliability. I have nothing to say about this gearbox yet, but we'll see.
Otherwise, it's a very modern and pleasant car for its price. And I think it will definitely capture some of the market. The SIMBIOZ has more trunk space and rear headroom than the CAPTURE. It's more convenient to operate and quite fuel-efficient.
It's already possible to buy such a car in Israel, and we'll be waiting for it on the used market, while learning about breakdowns and repairs in our challenging climate.
