Citroen C3 1.2 2024. Why are they afraid of the French and is everything really so scary?
Beautiful, stylish, made of good materials. Really pleasant to the touch. Such emotions are given by the Citroen C3. It is bright and recognizable.
This is certainly good. But I could not call the car good. Before we look at the technology, I need to say a few words about ergonomics. Not everything is simple here.
The seats can be called comfortable only on short distances. On long trips, the soft chairs are tiring, and it is generally impossible to quickly fold the front seats. Patience is needed here.
The multimedia is complex and has difficult illogical operating algorithms. There are few physical buttons and this does not help in driving the car. Some important functions are hidden very far away.
The same problems are with cruise control and mirror control. Everything is not in front of the eyes and requires study and habit.
The car drives well, and with a manual gearbox it is more than lively, but this does not cancel out all the pain in the engine.
1.2 EV in 20017-2019 was slightly improved, but could not overcome all the problems. Hence the very complex secondary market for these cars. For the first owner, everything is quite rosy and meaningful, but when the factory warranty ends, these units are capable of surprising. And surprising in a negative way. Therefore, the Christmas trees and Pyzhiks with such engines do not hold the price and are sold on the secondary market cheaply, and are expensive to repair.
In the car selection, these engines, of course, come across, but we try to avoid them. Both atmospheric and turbocharged 1.2 are a kind of lottery. Nevertheless, there are many people who are not afraid of these sores and they are ready to buy French cars. And if you service them correctly, you will get a lot of pleasure. At least aesthetically. And if you want my advice, then take a closer look at diesels!
