Community Action Team - The People and Resources
The Lower Mainland Purpose Society's "Community Action Team" has produced the following video of the people and resources behind their Community Action Team (CAT).
The New Westminster Community Action Team created these anti-stigma videos in an effort to:
1. Increase the number of people who are using drugs alone to engage in help seeking, and harm reduction strategies.
2. Reduce negative perceptions towards people who use drugs among community residents who are not at risk of drug toxicity deaths.
3. Increase the number of community residents who are acting as a conduit for sharing information about available resources, and harm reduction strategies.
The intention of these videos is not only to humanize the experiences of people who use substances and their loved ones, but also to bring these experiences closer to home.
