Thanks to the use of lasers and implants, ophthalmic surgery is now working wonders and can correct many vision problems. It is even said that it may be possible to increase visual acuity. For several years now, smartphone applications have allowed people to test their eyesight on their own, without having to visit an ophthalmologist. No side effects? Today, a new app could revolutionize the daily lives of the 22 million French people with presbyopia: the principle is to exercise the brain, through several sessions per week, so that the eye adapts to vision without the aid of glasses. As for the bionic eye, it is currently in the testing phase. Many of these techniques promise to cure us permanently. Do they present any dangers for patients? And do they herald the end of glasses?
