Introducing David Jones, 2024 NCECA Conference Presenter, Can ceramics and AI grow together?
This presentation proposes a bringing together of critical philosophical worldviews in order to demonstrate an understanding of ways in which the ceramic object, the meaning encoded in its making, and the communication to an audience can be understood in the unfolding world of apparently dominating AI algorithms.
David Jones was awarded his PhD by Manchester Metropolitan University; his undergraduate degree (Philosophy / Literature) was awarded by Warwick University. He was a Senior Academic in the Ceramics Department at the University of Wolverhampton for the past thirty years. He is the elected representative on the global Council of the IAC.
