Bear Springs Trap (BST) is part of the Mudslinger XC Race series in Oregon. This takes place near Mt Hood, east of Portland.
BST is the most technically demanding race of the series. With lots of rocks and roots to navigate, I contemplated using my full suspension for this race, but ended up opting for my hardtail. I still feel like a light full squish would be the best option. Mine isn't light...
I threw myself under the bus a bit by doing a 3 hour pre-ride the day before but still came in 11th of 24 in my Cat 2 Sport age group.
I used a gimbal and chesty for this race and had... technical difficulties... and ran out of battery early. I think I have those problems solved for this years' series.
