Almost all great achievements come from small ideas. The APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) began as a simple proposal from Chinese Taipei during the 2003 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, but it drew support from other APEC members who eventually joined together in striving to reduce the digital divide throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Today, we have 10 "APEC partner member economies (PMEs)": Chile, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Peru, The Philippines, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam. We have worked with PMEs to set up 101 ADOC Digital Opportunity Centers. The photos of this calendar were taken by our trainees or partners from these ADOC Centers.

We believe the ubiquity and promotion of ICT can assist the disadvantaged groups within the APEC region to create digital opportunities. Through our joint efforts, we shall bridge the digital divide and greet a future full of digital hope.
