Heavy and Tracer Play Chess
Heavy and Tracer attempt to have a friendly game of Chess. It would probably go more smoothly if they actually knew the rules.
I stumbled across a chess board in the Source Filmmaker workshop and thought it would be funny to do a video where some characters play Chess with disastrous results. It was also a good opportunity to do something simple that provided me a chance to practice some basic animation while hopefully doing something silly and giving a few laughs. Probably not the greatest Source Filmmaker Project ever made, but hopefully still entertaining.
I also made my first attempt at lip-synching a character manually, though how successful it was is debatable. Dialogue is easy for the TF2 characters because you can have the program do the actual lip movements for you while you focus on other parts of the animation. With Tracer I tried to animated her mouth so that it would look like it was moving, but that was easier said than done. With hindsight, it probably would have been better to practice with a single line before doing an exchange, but hopefully you still enjoy her and Heavy's little showdown.
