When entering the Navajo Nation from the Northwest, there’s an area called “The Big Cut”. This overlooks the beginnings of The Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, The Vermillion Cliffs, and Echo Cliffs.
These areas are filled with sacred history, forgotten trails, and stories.
Some of our people hid here when the US soldiers were taking our people to the prison camp at Fort Sumner. If you ever get the chance to drive through The Big Cut, the views are breathtaking and now you will know more of its true history.
