Headlights | OC PMV/Animatic
I forgot to change the description from the past video at upload... oops (It was scheduled and had forgotten that I didn't fully finish everything).
ANYWAYS... This was another class assignment that I didn't really finish. I mean... it's all animated but it was meant to be a PMV, not an animatic. But hey, I'm still pretty proud of it.

Script: Azure and her partner, Thunder, had previously escaped their old pack: New Hope. After the daughter of the leader, Sunny, had joined their group, they were being tracked down. They would've left their den earlier but there was a snowstorm and they didn't want to risk the lives of the pups.
After a few days after a battle where New Hope had brought a party to recapture them, they find a slightly larger party coming back to get them. Feeling like the risk of staying was too great, 4 wolves went to try and bring the pups to a safer location while the other 8 went to confront the party.
They were largely outnumbered (This is where the animatic begins). Surrounded, and after a good fight, are captured and taken back to the pack as prisoners to be starved and used for menial labor or to be humiliated. This is done to keep other wolves from defecting in the future.
Azure is looking back at what happened and her past. She is remembering the happy moments in her life and is regretting having left in the first place... especially as it cost the lives of all but two of her pups that year and the safety of her loved ones.
She starts lashing out at the other wolves, beginning to believe (again) the things that she had been told about outsiders. Shadow tries to knock some sense back into her, reminding her that the bad things are happening because of New Hope, not them, but she is resistant.
This changes when she is brought to Thunder. He has sworn loyalty back to New Hope and begins to say horrible things about the other prisoners, saying they corrupted her. These are the things she's been accusing them of too, but hearing it from another wolf puts into perspective how awful that is.
Chancel states that many wolves are unhappy with keeping demons in their presence, even as prisoners, and are planning to overthrow Haven and kill them. Thunder says he's made a deal with her that if they help, they and their pups will be safe. She's disgusted and attacks her now ex-partner.
When she comes back to the den injured, she explains what happened and apologizes for what she's said to them. She reveals Thunder and Chancel's plan, and that they're bound to be killed soon (including her, now that she's rejected the plan).
They begin to plan an escape, but try to keep the appearance that they don't know what's going to happen. One day, while her family is watching her pups, she begins to reminisce on her past again, but realizes that it was nowhere near happy as she was remembering.
Eventually, when the one guard is asleep and the other is switching rotations, they escape the den. Turns out, the guards had picked up on their plotting and Caramel waiting for them to leave, and soon bring parties to try and stop them. Sukie is killed, sacrificing herself to save her family.
Their stopped from going their route down to the river and instead keep getting closer and closer to the edge of a cliff. She's holding Pebble, and Hurricane slams into her, taking the pup.
Azure is surrounded on the cliff-side. The excess weight on the peak leads to it crumbling, and she's clinging onto the edge, trying not to fall, when Haven comes up to her. He doesn't look like the god he's been built up as. From the pack trying to slowly kill him through poisoning his food, he is more bedraggled and sickly than ever before and it shows. To her, he no longer looks like the god he's built himself up as his entire life. He is just an old man.
Any sort of mercy in the mind of Haven is gone from this second escape attempt and from the poison clouding his thinking. All that is left is his anger. So, he bites down on her paw, breaking it, and sending her off the cliff into the trees below.
