An incredible find of the 2019 season! A leather-bound German-language psalter spent 300 years aboard the sunken Archangel Raphael, awaiting its time. Published in 1692, it's hard to believe, but it remained intact underwater. Now comes the painstaking work of restoring it to its original state. Roman Prokhorov, underwater archaeologist and conservator at the Russian Geographical Society's Center for Historical and Cultural Studies, shared his impressions.
