Perimeter is the distance around the edge of a shape, or you can say 2D shape.
To find the perimeter of a shape, you need to add up the lengths of all the sides of the shape.
For example, if you have a rectangle with sides of length 4 and 6, the perimeter would be 4 + 4 + 6 + 6 = 20. Or 2 times length + width
if you have a square with sides of length 4 , the perimeter would be 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16. Or 2 times length + length
If you have a more complex shape, like a triangle, you will need to add up the lengths of all three sides to find the perimeter. For example, if you have a triangle with sides of length 3, 4, and 5, the perimeter would be 3 + 4 + 5 = 12.
As we know by adding the sides, we get the perimeter…. But here perimeter is already given to us, and we need to draw the rectangle which reflect the perimeter given.
So here we will start finding the numbers which can give you 24 when you multiply 2 number. I can say 4 times 8 can give me number 24 if I multiply.
We know the area and length of the rectangle, so we can work out the width.
We’re told the perimeter of the two shapes is the same, so it makes sense to find the perimeter of the rectangle.

The formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangle is,
Perimeter = 2(a + b).
Work out the missing side.
We can work out the missing side by dividing the perimeter by 2, and then subtracting the side length given in the question.

Perimeter = 2(a + b)
= 21
= 10.5
