My Historic District Monday
Hi My Old House"Fixers"... it's 𝙈𝙮 𝙃𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙘 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮! Do you, or have you ever lived in a Historic District? Which one? Many Old House owners say they are 𝘁𝗼𝗼 restrictive, while other homeowners say they are 𝗸𝗲𝘆 to fostering and encouraging the preservation of our historic 𝘖𝘭𝘥 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴.
Now, some Historic Districts fall under the local/𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 - a Historic District Commission/coordinator. They manage changes and the approval process. There are also 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 Historic Preservation offices and coordinators. They can tend to be more restrictive than the local level, 𝘉𝘜𝘛 sometimes tax credits and incentives are tied to their historic rehabilitation plans. They can really 𝗽𝗮𝘆 off...literally!!!
