Mold Making - 2 Piece Plaster Mold
In this video, I demonstrate how to make a 2 piece waste mold of a sculpted terra-cotta clay form. The 2 piece waste mold is used to make only 1 casting and is discarded after use, which is why the word "waste" is used. Therefore, "undercuts", which are areas where the mold will lock onto the sculpture, are not an issue and with this technique, you can make an mold out of almost most any sculpted clay form.

Water based Clay
No. 1 Casting or Pottery Plaster
Scraper Wax Resist or Vaseline
