Full tutorial on how to use a cheap Wemos D1 Mini wifie board to control anything in your home with the Amazon Alexa enabled Echo Dot device. Using the Arduino IDE (programming environment) you just need to import the Wemos D1 Mini support then follow this video. After complete just hit upload and your devices (lights 1 through 4) will appear in the Amazon Alexa Device manager for control. Its that easy!

I have read that some Gen2 Dots are having trouble. There is a fix by using this instead: https://github.com/kakopappa/arduino-... It is noted a user had to change "urn:Belkin:device:**" to "upnp:rootdevice" in the answer for the search query. I have no experience with this one but it is reported as working with Gen2
Also roll back the ESP8266 Board library to 2.3, which got the Fauxmo example sketch working with a gen2 echo: Go to the tools drop down menu, board, and click on board manager. Then, search for ESP8266 and make sure the version is 2.3
