Horrible Facebook App Slowdown Curse, December, 2013

I admit it; I own an antiquated phone: the iPhone 4. Anyway, I made this video to demonstrate how the Facebook app (and not my phone) slows down HORRIBLY whenever I type long posts. Not sure how long the post needs triggers the quicksand molasses, but when it slows, it sloooooowsssss. The FB post in the video is 498 words/ about 3,000,characters long. It probably REALLY hit The Slow Wall about 430 words into the post.
I say the problem lies not with the phone because I've been able — on many, many other occasions —to write hundreds and hundreds of words in other apps with no discernible slowdown; the problem really only seems to happen when I'm writing a long-ish post in the FB app.
I admit it, this isn't the most exciting video you'll ever watch, but at least you'll get to experience the rapturous beauty of my beautiful voice as I — off camera — scratch my head at/ponder over this massively significant slowdown issue :-)
Anyone else experience similar slowdown whilst using the FB app? Please lemme hear your input on this. I'm definitely curious if there's something I'm missing, perhaps something that could eliminate this semi-occasional Facebook app snail-crawl curse.
