After Horton married, they stayed with his brides family until they could start a life of their own. The property is now about 150 years old and everyday mother mother nature continues to reclaim what is hers until the day it is no longer recognized.
If you look close, you can see the farm equipment has set for so long it is about 6 inches below the dirt line. One of the pics shows the horse drawn road grader used to keep the original roads passable.
While rummaging around the old house I was surprised to see canned vegetables laying in the dirt and rubble. Memories like these are irreplaceable and should be captured like this to be passed down thru the years so future generations can see just how hard it really was living in such a desolate area.
