ChonOS: A specifical-purpose GNU/Linux distribution for Embedded MAS
Developing Embedded Multiagent Systems (MAS) is a complex task since many abilities are involved in this process. The designer must know concepts from hardware assembling to cognitive programming. A few works deploy embedded solutions when it comes to Belief-Desire-Intention (BDI) agents. Nevertheless, these solutions do not integrate all the necessary functionalities to support the designer in this process. Most of them focus on only one part of the whole process (i.e., cognitive programming). This work presents ChonOS, a specific GNU/Linux distribution for supporting the designer while creating devices using embedded multi-agent systems. It facilitates the hardware and software configuration, the deployment of firmware and cognitive software using BDI agents, and interfaces for developing and debugging agents. The ChonOS is a ready-to-go distribution that integrates several existing solutions to abstract technological dependencies in embedding MAS in hardware platforms
