Xi'an - The last stop on our Silk Road trip.
🌍 Join us in our latest vlog as we reach the final stop of our Silk Road journey, ending in the ancient city of Xi'an.
📅 Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, from July to August 2021, our incredible expedition from Chengdu to Kashgar culminated in Xi'an. This segment was meant to showcase the legendary Terracotta Warriors, but to our disappointment, we arrived to find them closed.
🚪 Unfortunately, our anticipation turned into frustration as the closure of the Terracotta Warriors site meant we missed out on one of China’s most iconic historical treasures. This unexpected turn of events put a damper on what had been an otherwise exhilarating journey.
🍲 Despite this setback, Xi’an offered other enriching experiences. We indulged in our first foreign meal since the start of the trip, which had been recommended to us by a few people, an Italian restaurant in the heart of Xi'an.
