HOW QUINCES ARE GROWN, HARVESTED AND SORTED AT THE FACILITY?
The “Shamkir Agropark” is the first Agropark-format agricultural project in the South Caucasus.
“Shamkir Agropark”, which consists of an area of 559 hectares, is located in the Shamkir district, on the 12th kilometer of the Ganja-Shamkir highway.
It is a complex business project designed to operate in a international format. The activities of the “Shamkir Agropark” are based on modern production, logistics, and sales technologies.
Logistic center total area of 37.000 square meters. The services provided are sorting, cold storage, packaging, and sale of agricultural.
Sorting and packaging services
Large-caliber fruit and vegetable sorting-packing line: production capacity 50 tons per hour; sorting according to size, diameter, color, and external defects. Fruits and vegetables that can be sorted: nectarines, dates, tomatoes, and peaches. Small caliber fruit sorting-packing line: production capacity 1 ton per hour; mainly sorts cherries according to size, diameter, color, and external defects.
The packaging line of small-sized stone fruits: mainly plums and apricots; micro-packaging is carried out by implementing plastic containers with a capacity of 500-1000 grams
Cold Storages
Total volume of 24,000 tons; 64 ULO (Ultra Low Oxygen) type refrigerating storage chambers. In addition, 5 detaining rooms with a total capacity of 700 tons eliminate the astringency of dates.1 temporary storage chamber with a capacity of 1000 tons. 2 goods receiving platforms. 1 temporary storage chamber-type goods shipping platform
Cold storages and sorting system are based on the state-of-the-art equipment and controlled via centralized computer system
Orchards
The area covered: is 519 hectares. Available garden area: 36.5 hectares. Fruit trees in the garden: cherries, apricots, plums, quinces, pears, nectarines, peaches, dates, almonds
