Treatment For Speech Apraxia - Insight Into Care
This patient had speech apraxia after having an infection. This video shows parts of the exam and treatments. In the video you will notice that we used abdominal movements to help him phonate, as well as giving him different strategies to help him regain some the phenoms that he lost. Other treatments that were not shown in the video were different eye and neck vestibular rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic activation of cranial nerve 5 with electric stimulations and different cutaneous cueing techniques. All treatments that we use at Georgia Chiropractic Neurology Center are specific to the individual, so a different patient with speech apraxia may get a very different treatment protocol.
