There are two social subgroups of Bengalis live in West Bengal. At the time of partition of Bengal in 1905 (Called Bongo Bhongo), the families which were inherent to West Bengal are called Ghotis and those who came from East Bengal (Now called Bangladesh) are called Bangals.
There is cultural difference and also the difference in cuisine between Bangals and Ghotis.
Fortunately I am Bati (Bangal+Ghoti). My mother is Bangal and father is Ghoti. So I am enjoying bothe the cuisines. This influences me to start a new series... Bangal Vs Ghoti.
There will be one common ingredient.. (Like Aloo and Posto/Poppy Seeds here) and we will present one dish each of Bangal and Ghoti Cuisine.
