The Seven Basic Tools of Quality is one of the most used sets of Quality tools across all organizations. You will find several YouTube videos explaining each of the Seven Basic Tools of Quality tool and showing you how to perform these Quality tools in Excel. But your success is NOT JUST dependent upon KNOWING how to CREATE these Basic Tools of Quality in Excel. Your success is REALLY dependent upon how effectively you use this knowledge of the Seven Basic Quality Tools in real-world situations.
My name is Rahul Iyer, and in this YouTube video series, I will showcase the use of these Quality tools in real-world practical scenarios. We will discuss at least two examples of Stratification, Histogram, Pareto Charts, Scatterplot, and Control Charts each in the entire series. Fishbone Diagram and Check Sheets are non-numerical tools. Hence, they are not included in our discussion.
In today's episode, you will go through the real-life example of the second Seven Basic Tool of Quality: the HISTOGRAM.
What is a Histogram?
A histogram is a frequency distribution diagram. You can use a Histogram in many ways. Some of the ways include: 1) Using the Histogram to analyze whether your process can meet customer's requirements. 2) A histogram helps you check how your supplier's process looks like. 3) Histogram also checks if your process has undergone any changes between two time periods. 4) And a Histogram compares and confirms if the outputs of two or more processes are different.
