Easiest Ways to Defend Your Base | Valheim
Your base should be the one place in Valheim that you feel safe, but random events like this one can turn your base into a warzone at short notice.
So, I am going to show you the easiest ways that I know to protect your base from a variety of enemies.
Firstly, you'll want to build a wall around your base using the raise ground feature of your hoe. Unlike player-made structures, raised earth is immune to damage from enemies, making it the ideal method to protect your base. Just make sure the edges are steep enough that enemies can't scale them.
Next, once you've got your hands on a pickaxe, dig a moat around your base that enemies won't be able to cross. For best results, align it with the directions of the compass and make sure any bridge has a small gap to stop enemies.
Lastly, place stakes on top of your raised ground to help you deal with flying enemies like bats and drakes. The dverger stakes have the highest durability but they do require 2 iron which cannot be retrieved if they break - so consider using multiple sharp stakes, or ashwood stakes if you can!
