Well, I ordered the DOPMEP pasta strainer, and the reason I got this was because I really wanted one that goes in the sink. I have a collection of metal and plastic calendars and sieves, but nothing that goes in the sink like this one. And this will allow me to rinse and wash right into the sink.
It will also allow me to use this to strain the chicken stock. When you boil down the chicken stock, you have the bones and pieces, the vegetables and everything. Put this over the sink, put a pot underneath it and you can strain it right down into the pot that sits in the sink. It's very handy. I like it.
This is pretty heavy-duty. I've used it. You can see with the Brussels sprouts, the measurements are just what they say they are. As I say, nine-inch by 14-inch basket. But then it goes and stretches way out to 21 inches. I'd say two and a half inches deep.
I really like this. A good product. I'm glad I ordered it, and I plan to use it often.
