This video on Arduino Ultrasonic Sensors explains the concept of Ultrasound and its uses to humans.
We humans can't hear the Ultrasound like animals - BATs, DOGs, Whales etc.
BATs, Whales use ultrasound for navigation. Commercially humans incorporated Ultrasound for a variety of purposes like - to measure distance, check the level of fluid / water, door control alarm and in Radar systems to detect enemy activity in military applications to name a few.
I have covered two ultrasound sensors HC-SR04T and JSN-SR04T (water proof sensor) in this video with examples on how to wire them with Arduino.
Code with and without Library is also explained at the end of each example.
With this knowledge one can easily modify the code to meet the needs and use it for there own applications.
