If you're an independent artist like me, especially one on a limited budget, the more you can do for free the better you can funnel your money into where it's needed, like promotion.
To that end, I wanted to see what I could do with popular free software; specifically Blender, Daz Studio, and of course, Davinci Resolve.
This was the result. It was purely an experiment to see for myself what could be done. Playing off the "Copy" part of the title, I came up with the concept of clones. I quickly knocked up a character in Daz Studio. That was imported into Blender using its Daz To Blender Bridge plugin.
I didn't want to go into animating the character itself for now so I just animated the camera. I applied a green screen background so I could composite other elements in Davinci Resolve. Technically I could have done it all in Blender but I'm used to Davinci Resolve so it was quicker for me to bring it into there.
Once imported into Davinci Resolve it was a matter of just incorporating the single cover and the pre-save graphics over the audio and it was done in about two to three hours, including rendering time.
Now that the basics are done I can see what else I can do!
