Day #8 - Phone Calls

Ok so before Christmas and a number of times during last year we called various different companies of all different sizes. When they answered the phone the first and only word was "Hello". Generally spoken in an abrupt way with no mention of the business name or their personal name.
I find this really sets back the conversation you want to have before even having it.
So something along the lines of "This is (company name), Alastair speaking." That way you don't have to ask these two questions
1. Sorry is this (company name)?
2. And whom am I speaking with?
Everyone in your business is involved in sales.
