During Covid I did a series of massage from my friend Dave who was a policeman with the Queensland Police Service and is now on stress leave.

Raynor Massage is a holistic therapy developed by Brandon Raynor that integrates various techniques from different massage traditions, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, acupressure, reflexology, and yoga breathwork. This approach aims to treat not just the physical body but also emotional and energetic imbalances.

For PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Raynor Massage can be beneficial in several ways:

Relaxation and Stress Reduction: The deep relaxation induced by the massage can help reduce stress levels and promote a sense of calm and well-being, which is crucial for individuals with PTSD.

Release of Tension and Trauma: The techniques used in Raynor Massage aim to release deep-seated tension and trauma stored in the muscles and tissues. This can help in alleviating physical symptoms associated with PTSD, such as muscle tension and chronic pain.

Emotional Release: By focusing on areas where emotional tension is held in the body, Raynor Massage can facilitate the release of suppressed emotions and trauma, helping individuals process and heal from their experiences.

Improved Sleep: Many individuals with PTSD suffer from sleep disturbances. The relaxation and stress reduction benefits of Raynor Massage can lead to improved sleep patterns and better overall rest.

Enhanced Body Awareness: This type of massage promotes greater awareness of one's body and its sensations. This can be particularly helpful for individuals with PTSD, as it encourages a connection with the present moment and helps to ground them.

It's important to note that while Raynor Massage can be a helpful complementary therapy for managing PTSD symptoms, it should not replace conventional treatments such as psychotherapy and medication. Individuals interested in Raynor Massage for PTSD should consult with their healthcare provider and ensure they work with a licensed and experienced massage therapist trained in this specific technique.
