Valentino's DNA Results Are Back!
I adopted Valentino from a local rescue on Dec 30. They had listed him as an American Eskimo "mix" - and it peaked my interest. I currently had a miniature American Eskimo (aka Eskies ir Spitz) named Friday Surprise. We had lost our sweet Niko (a Pom mix Rescue) a few months earlier & they had been inseparable for over 10 yrs. Enter Valentino. Friday was not a fan at first. But adorable Valentino won her over. Valentino's Foster Parents told me that he be a Samoyed mix. Since the American Eskimo & Samoyed look so similar, I looked up the difference - Eskies have round eyes & Samoyed have almond shaped eyes. Valentino's were distinctly almond shaped. So we had to do a DNA test - it came back today! He's a Pomeranian & Samoyed!!
