LabChat: The Future of Research Labs
Research labs are not simply relegated to the domestic confines of labs in the U.S. and Europe anymore. Research is a global enterprise. A number of new innovative research labs are already being constructed in Asia, where double-digit growth in R&D budgets is fueling the design, construction and implementation of entirely new labs. These labs are designed from the ground up and generally have strong collaboration features that allow them to work with international researchers at other sites. Most of these new labs focus on a variety of basic leading-edge lab design features, like sustainability, collaboration settings, flexibility, energy conservation and renewable energy.
