Some High End Mics with EQUAL GAIN SETTINGS
WARNING... the first 2 mics are 10-12db quieter than the others! Schoeps CMIT 5u, DPA 4017c, Sanken CS3e, Sennheiser MKH8060, and Rode NTG-3... all at EQUAL GAIN, NOT EQUAL LEVELS. This tells you how efficient each of these mics are. Please do not begin a discussion about this mic or that mic being better or worse because it's louder or quieter! If you are fooled by the volume of a microphone... well... that is not a good thing... HOWEVER... I do think the differences in efficiency... are noteworthy. When I first began using a CMIT... I was surprised at the trim position on my mixer, compared to what I was used to... it really threw me off having to turn the mic up that much more... and so... that's the point of this video (more coming very soon).
