Unveiling some the hidden costs of figure skating - or what parents might not think about when signing their kids up for ice skating lessons.
This is how much I pay just for Lauren to skate as an Early/Mid-Level Skater that competes in Level Aspire 1 as well as how much higher level skaters pay to skate! Includes practice time costs, coaching fees, skates for different levels of skating, competition dresses, travel and other fees! Of course, I am not an expert on this - just sharing my personal expenses within the sport, and all of this information is subjective and can vary. Please speak with your coach and/or skating club about their own policies regarding fees and travel.
I know, I know, it's a PowerPoint and this is not your office. BUT, I wanted something nice to look at as you are shocked at what you are finding out! The point of this video is to inform curious parents about what they are getting into! The cost is subjective; you adjust to your budget and your kids skate to your affordability. Don't let this information scare you!
FIGURE SKATING is a BEAUTIFUL sport, and worth every penny spent! I myself was a figure skater and I STILL have friends from my skating days 30 years ago! I did synchro too! I love it all and I'm so glad my parents introduced me to it! Your kids will love it too!
