Edit for headphones, May 2023. A song from the 1975 album "Blue Jays" by Justin Hayward (lead singer, guitar player & songwriter of "The Moody Blues") and John Lodge (bass player, singer & songwriter of "The Moody Blues").
During work on "The Moody Blues" album that was to follow the album "Seventh Sojourn", bandmates John Lodge, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge summoned Justin Hayward and producer Tony Clarke out of a recording session to call off the project. The tension-fraught recording of "Seventh Sojourn" and subsequent world tour had left the band exhausted and relationships frayed.
Hey, what other sixties band had the same going on?
Mike Pinder (founding member and the original keyboard player of "The Moody Blues"), who had emigrated to the United States, was not happy in England and was determined to return home to California. Justin Hayward told that he was under a lot of pressure from Decca to come up with something to release. So he went to America to do something with Mike Pinder. Then Tony Clarke and John Lodge turned up at Mike Pinder's house as well. Mike Pinder took Justin Hayward in the other room and said, "I don't want to work with anybody else. I'm out of this project." So then it became Justin Hayward and John Lodge and Tony Clarke, and they made the album "Blue Jays".

(The end of the song is audible in the next song's intro on the album, so that's why I used the next song's intro as a fade out outro.)
THIS MORNING
(Justin Hayward)
as the dawn is breaking on your future my child
is there none of your love alive
if every door you open closes on me
I don't know if I can survive
I don't know if I can survive
long is the road that takes you from home
my baby oh my darling
sleepless are the hours
and lonely is the night
for the poor tormented soul
who is searching for the light
this morning I opened my eyes
I knew from the silence
that something was wrong
turning I realised
I wanted to cry
when I knew I was alone
but where will you go
and who will be your guide
and which way will you turn
the waters are so wide
'cause I never told you
no you'll never really know
I need you so
now the sun is rising on your freedom my child
is there none of your love alive
every door you open closes on me
I don't know if I can survive
knowing part of your love was lies
long is the road that takes you from home
my baby oh my darling
sleepless are the hours
and lonely is the night
the poor tormented soul
who is searching for the light
the moment I opened my eyes
I knew from the silence
that something was wrong
turning I realised
I wanted to cry
when I knew I was alone
but where will you go
and who will be your guide
and which way will you turn
the waters are so wide
'cause I never told you
no you'll never really know
I need you so
