Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade - thoughts and impressions
The Darius series has always ranked amongst my favorites in the shmup genre which I so adore and am immutably loyal to, so noticed this with a significant price reduction in the PSN store, and decided to grab it. I do realize I’m a bit late to the party with this specific compilation, but excited to have acquired it.
I talk about my thoughts on games that originally ran on multiple 4:3 CRT setups, how they look on modern 16:9 displays, my old Darius 2 setup in mame, some others I’ve scaled, the different display and scaling modes in this compilation, the bells and whistles, what’s great about it, a few minor not so great aspects, and a potential future project with perhaps a version of this compilation on another platform which can take advantage of 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratio displays.
