Editing a BeamNG.Drive Video from Start to Finish (DaVinci Resolve 12.5 Shadowplay Guide)

My editing process from start to finish for a short BeamNG.drive video needing some simple cuts and syncing, specifically "BeamNG.Drive 0.9 Updated Tires - Racing Slicks and Run-Off Areas".

I start by trimming my source recordings from Nvidia Shadowplay into clips only containing usable footage for my video. I do this on keyframes using Avidemux to avoid timely re-encoding or lossy quality degradation. Afterwards I use an FFmpeg batch file I made to batch transcode all of my project clips in DNxHD so they work correctly in DaVinci Resolve 12.5. Afterwards it's just a matter of basic non-linear editing stuff that you'll be familiar with if you've used anything basic like VideoPad or Windows Movie Maker. Only difference is the quality and usefulness of the available tools in Resolve, and its ability to export at whatever quality you need at standard resolutions for YouTube. If I plan to do basic audio editing, I'll simply do them while in Resolve, but for more advanced edits I'll export the audio and finish it in my producer version of FL Studio 12 before adding it back into the project to render in Resolve. It's a bit of work using Shadowplay footage in DaVinci Resolve, but I think the results are worth it if you can't afford Avid or Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas.

Music is "Cool Ride" by Audionautix with some added saturation.
