NAO: First Human-Inspired Robotic Walking

This video demonstrates the first dynamically stable, human-inspired bipedal robotic walking achieved with the NAO robot.

To achieve this walking, human walking data was used to formally construct controllers that resulted in provable stable robotic walking in simulation. The simulated trajectories were than tracked on NAO to achieve robotic walking. As can be seen at the end of the video, there is almost perfect agreement between the simulated and experimental walking.

This walking is compared to the built-in, pre-existing, walking on NAO. It can be seen that the walking we achieve is, in fact, more human-like.
