This video goes over guidelines you should use when developing your warm-up plan for a Powerlifting meet. When it comes to maxing out, you want to make sure you aren't warming up too much or too little. In addition, you want to make sure you aren't warming up too soon or too late.
In the video, I break down building a warm-up plan into 7 tips. One, most lifters only need four to six warm-ups. Two, you want your jumps to be smaller as you go up in weight. Three, you want your reps to be fewer as you go up in weight. Four, base your warm-up jumps on your attempt jumps. Five, try to have your competition warm-up weights mimic your gym warm-up weights. Six, you want to increase rest time as you go up in weight. And seven, leave adequate time to recover from your last warm-up to your first attempt.
